Our dogs.....
ETHAN and COCO

Coco
Coco's Story
On August 8th, 2011, as Dana went to God, poor Coco was walking the streets in Gallatin, TN. She wandered into a concrete plant and being emaciated and exhausted, she collapsed. Several of the men working there rescued her and took her to animal control. There she received her shots and was spayed. One of the nice men who rescued her, along with his wife adopted her in hopes of finding her a loving home.
Several days later, this wonderful couple came across my ad looking for a lab. We were so devastated about losing Dana that our depression was setting in fast and deep and we knew we had to do something to get our minds off of our terrible loss. We had already looked at several dogs, but in my heart I knew none of them were the special one we were searching for.
As I read this woman's email about Coco, my heart skipped a beat and I realized this was the special dog we had been searching for. The next day they brought Coco to me and I took her on a trial basis. Everything would depend on how well Ethan (Dana's partner) would take to her. Initially they were pretty indifferent towards each other and even had one minor argument at feeding time. This was totally understandable given Coco's condition.
Coco has helped us cope with the loss of Dana; we needed her and she needed us. Ethan is starting to like her as he will now allow her to be on his bed with him. Coco is steadily gaining weight and is not the skeleton she was when she first came here. She is turning out to be a beautiful, kind and loving chocolate lab. We are so glad she found her way to us.
